Ruby Goddess Smoothie
Wish you could wake up every day feeling like a glowing goddess? Full of love, vibrancy, and energy to heal the world!!
Well gorgeous being, look no further than this magical elixir!!
I was introduced to the green juice/smoothie phenomenon about 10years ago through the book “The Beauty Detox Diet”. I made the author’s recommended Green Juice for years, but kept feeling like something was missing.
So over the years I started experimenting and adding my own jewels to her green juice recipe. First beets. Then moringa. And after a 4 month stint in Brazil, how could I not add açaí? Eventually I came up with I (and most of my clients!!) find to be the perfect smoothie: The Ruby Goddess!!
This smoothie has most of the nutrients you need for the day and is so delicious!! One blender full should offer you enough goodness for 3-4 mornings (unless you're super thirsty or sharing with a loved one!)
After you've savored your fill, put the rest in smaller bottles to enjoy throughout the week.
NOTE: This is best prepared in a vitamix or other high powered blender. It works in less powerful blenders but will be less creamy.
Ruby Goddess Smoothie:
Ingredients:
1 cup greens (organic kale, spinach, chard, beet greens, dandelion greens, etc)
Fresh peeled Ginger ( Lots of a little depending on your preference. I personally use a huge chunk equivalent to ⅓ cup chopped)
1 small beet (or ½ large beet) peeled and chopped
1 cup fresh or frozen pineapple OR 1 apple
½ cup fresh or frozen berries (blueberries, raspberries, strawberries)
Juice of 3 limes or 2 lemons
Spring water
Recommended add ins!
1 small cucumber or ½ of a large cucumber
1 small organic carrot or ½ large carrot
1 celery stalk
8-16 ounces of coconut water
0-15 drops of stevia depending on how sweet you like it! If you don’t like stevia, try a few tablespoons of maple syrup or honey.
1 tablespoon of moringa or spirulina powder
1 package of frozen unsweetened acai (sold at many grocery stores including Trader Joes and whole foods)
Steps:
Fill your blender with the greens, followed by the beet (and optional other veggies), then the fruits.
Add the lemon/lime juice juice and any other optional ingredients. Fill the rest of the blender with spring water/coconut water to the max point.
Blend until smooth and creamy. If you like, you can spoon off the foam into the sink. I personally love the creamy foam which makes me feel like I'm in drinking a fruity cappucino
Pour the deliciousness into a glass. Observe the beautiful red color. Take 5 deep breaths, sharing gratitude for this life-giving juice, the farmers who grew the ingredients, and yourself, for treating your body with love and care!
After you enjoy 1-2 glasses mindfully, save the rest in a big jar or smaller bottles in the fridge to enjoy for the next couple of days.
